Employees protest again at the Secretariat

A day after the offices reopened after the Eid holidays, agitating employees of various ministries and departments of the Secretariat are protesting again today, Monday, demanding the repeal of the Government Jobs (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025. After the protest, they are scheduled to submit a memorandum to three more government advisors today.

As per the previous announcement, the employees gathered in a procession at Badamtala of the Secretariat. There, they raised various slogans demanding the repeal of the ordinance. Later, they gathered under the new building of the Cabinet Division and the Ministry of Public Administration and demanded the repeal of the ordinance. Their slogans were ‘Illegal Black Law, I will not accept it’ etc.

Employees of various ministries and departments working in the Secretariat have been protesting for quite some time demanding the repeal of the Government Jobs (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025. The government issued the ordinance while the protest was going on. Since then, the agitating employees have been holding programs such as protests, work stoppages and submitting memorandums. In continuation, today, a memorandum is scheduled to be submitted to Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury; Housing and Public Works and Industries Advisor Adilur Rahman Khan and Social Welfare Advisor Sharmin S Murshid.
